Senior Software Engineer (Remote – US)

Summary

Senior Software Engineer plays a key role in building and scaling mission-critical systems. This position works closely with the CTO and a team of experienced engineers to design, architect, and deliver high-impact products used in real-time, location-based environments.

This role is ideal for senior engineers who enjoy ownership, fast iteration, and shaping technical direction in a data-driven startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CTO and engineering team to design and architect new products and features

• Build and maintain backend dispatch systems using Ruby on Rails

• Scale real-time, location-based and machine learning–powered dispatch platforms

• Work across the stack: APIs, system performance, scalability, and reliability

• Write clean, maintainable code and uphold engineering best practices

• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong full-stack background in agile environments

• Hands-on expertise with Ruby on Rails, RESTful APIs, and real-time systems

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL (SQL) and Redis (NoSQL)

• Experience scaling high-traffic or large-scale systems

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira

• Strong communication skills and leadership mindset

Nice to Have

• Experience with telephony systems (e.g., Twilio)

• Background in ML-enabled or location-based platforms

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: USD $140,000 – $200,000 / year
