Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for members, customers, and providers, supporting inquiries related to billing, eligibility, benefits, claims, and appeals via phone, chat, and email.

UnitedHealth Group is hiring Bilingual Customer Service Representatives (English–Japanese) for a fully remote role across the United States. You will serve as a primary point of contact for customers, assisting with billing, eligibility, benefits, claims, and general account questions via phone, chat, and email. Your language skills will directly help members feel understood and supported while navigating their healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound customer inquiries with professionalism and empathy

• Support billing, eligibility, benefits, claims, appeals, and grievance questions

• Communicate with members and providers via calls, emails, and chat

• Identify customer needs and resolve issues accurately and efficiently

• Partner with internal teams to manage complex cases

• Educate new customers on billing and payment processes

• Maintain service quality standards, even in high-pressure situations

Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience

• Must be 18 years or older

• 1+ year of customer service experience

• 1+ year working with Windows-based computer systems

• Fluent in both English and Japanese

• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of call center customer service experience

• Healthcare industry experience

Compensation & Benefits

• 12 weeks of paid virtual training (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST)

• Hourly pay: $17.74 – $31.63, based on experience and location
